Condition of book and jacket consistent with being very gently read. Jacket has darkened slightly but is still clean and bright several tiny closed edge tears at various points and one chip (1/4" x 1/4") on front panel just below the "M" of author's name jacket is not price-clipped-"$10.95" is printed on lower corner of front flap. Edges of binding slightly faded for depth of up to 1/2", corners and edges are free of any damage, head & heel of spine slightly bumped with no fabric damage, 2 tiny light brown 'bug spots' on lower fore edge, otherwise fine: book is square and solid, hinges tight interior clean and unmarked. 9-1/2" tall 636 pages includes "Appendix", "Notes", "Bibliography", "Index" and many illustrations medium blue one-piece binding, gilt lettering on spine, author's signature only on lower right corner of front board, also in gilt end pages have sepia-toned photograph of the Brooklyn bridge at about 1900 no remainder mark.
